Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Cogsmith plugins and related services. By purchasing, installing, or activating a Cogsmith plugin, you agree to the following.

License

Each Cogsmith Pro license is sold as an annual subscription and grants you the right to activate the plugin on one WordPress site. If you need to run the plugin on additional sites, you will need additional licenses. Free-tier features do not require a license key.

Pro features are gated by an active, valid license. When your subscription expires or is cancelled, Pro features are disabled. Free-tier functionality remains available. Your data and settings are preserved regardless of license status.

You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense Cogsmith plugins. You may not remove or circumvent the license validation mechanism.

Pricing and payment

Prices are listed in euros and are subject to change. Any price change will not affect active subscriptions until their next renewal date. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your payment details.

Refunds

If you are not satisfied with a Pro license purchase, email us and we will issue a refund. Refunds are processed via Lemon Squeezy through the original payment method. The free tier is available indefinitely with no purchase required.

Support

Support is provided via email only. We aim to respond within 2-3 business days. Complex technical issues involving third-party plugin conflicts or custom server configurations may require additional time. Support is available to customers with an active Pro license. Free-tier users may receive assistance at our discretion, but we make no guarantee of response time.

Updates

Active Pro subscribers receive all plugin updates — bug fixes, new features, and compatibility patches — for the duration of their subscription. After a subscription lapses, the plugin continues to function at its last installed version, but no further updates are provided until the subscription is renewed.

Limitation of liability

Cogsmith plugins are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for lost revenue, lost data, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our plugins.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these terms or our products shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your WordPress site and database. You are responsible for ensuring that the plugin is compatible with your server environment and other installed software. We recommend testing any plugin update on a staging site before applying it to production.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. Continued use of the plugin after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
